Christmas lighting for properties, bought by the case
Lighting a community entrance, a clubhouse, a row of commercial buildings or a downtown block uses the same components as lighting a house, just multiplied. Christmas Lights at Wholesale sells those components in case quantities, so a property's full display can be ordered at once and matched in color and style across every building.
Who orders case packs
- HOAs and community associations lighting entrances, monument signs, clubhouses, pool houses and common-area trees.
- Property and facility managers covering multiple buildings, parking-lot trees and storefront rooflines.
- Municipalities and downtown districts wrapping street trees and lighting public buildings.
- Installers stocking for a season of commercial and residential accounts.
Planning a property-wide order
Start with a site walk and a list of every surface to light: each roofline, peak, entrance, column and tree. Measure rooflines in feet. For trees, a common rule is about 100 mini lights per foot of height for a medium wrap, or two 50-light strands per foot.
Roofline footage sets the socket wire and C9 bulb count: one bulb per foot at 12 in. spacing, or 0.8 per foot at 15 in. A 4,000 ft. C9 kit covers roughly the rooflines of a mid-size multi-building complex; 500-bulb cases and 1,000 ft. spools extend any kit.
Tree wraps are sized in strands. A 24-strand case of LED minis holds 1,200 lights in one color and wire color, which keeps every tree on the property the same shade.
Consistency across buildings
Ordering the whole display at once keeps color temperature identical from building to building. Warm white from one production batch and warm white from another can differ visibly side by side, so case orders placed together are the simplest way to keep the property uniform.
Timers and power
Photocell timers, sold singly or in 4-packs, switch each circuit on at dusk and off after a set number of hours, so no one has to walk the property to turn displays on and off.

Budgeting a property lighting program
For an HOA board, a property manager or a downtown district, the holiday display is a line item that has to be justified and planned a year ahead. The simplest way to budget it is by surface: list every roofline, entrance, tree and monument sign that gets lit, estimate the materials for each, and total them.
Rooflines
Roofline cost scales with footage. At case pricing, C9 LED bulbs run $0.638 each. A 2,000 ft. C9 kit at 15 in. spacing is $3,761.96, or $1.88 per foot including wire, bulbs, plugs and clips. A 4,000 ft. kit is $8,045.48 ($2.01 per foot). Most multi-building properties fall somewhere between those two sizes once every building's roofline is added up.
Trees
Tree wraps are budgeted by strand. At case pricing, a 50-light 6 in. LED mini strand is $10.83. A medium wrap uses about 100 lights per foot of tree height, so a 10 ft. tree takes about 20 strands, or $216.67 in lights. Street trees and parking-lot trees are usually wrapped on the trunk and the lower main branches only, which cuts the strand count substantially.
Entrances and signs
Monument signs and entrance features are usually lit with a short C9 outline or with mini lights wrapped on surrounding shrubs. They're small in material cost but they're the most-seen part of the display, so they're worth planning first.
Buying for consistency
A property display looks professional when every building matches. That comes down to three decisions made once for the whole property:
- One color temperature. Warm white is the most common choice for residential communities. Sun warm white suits traditional architecture. Pure white suits modern and commercial buildings.
- One bulb style. Faceted, smooth or opaque. Mixing styles between buildings is visible from the street.
- One spacing. 15 in. spacing is common on commercial buildings; 12 in. suits clubhouses and entrances viewed up close. Pick one per building type and keep it.
Ordering the full display in one order, in case quantities, keeps every building on the same product. Adding buildings in later years works best when the original color temperature and style are written down in the property's records.
Phasing a display over several years
Boards with a fixed annual budget often phase a display in: the entrance and clubhouse the first year, main-road rooflines the second, common-area trees the third. Because LED C9 bulbs, socket wire and mini strands are reused every season, each year's purchase adds to the display rather than replacing it. Budget a small replacement allowance each year for bulbs and clips lost to weather and storage.
Installation and ownership
Properties handle installation one of two ways: a lighting contractor installs, maintains and removes a display the property owns, or the property's own maintenance staff installs it. Owning the materials and hiring installation separately gives the property control over the product and lets it change installers without losing the display.
Storage
Socket wire stores best loosely coiled or re-spooled, labeled by building and edge. Bulbs can stay in the sockets if the runs are coiled carefully; otherwise store them in their original cases. Clips are cheap enough that many installers treat them as consumable and use new clips each year.
Power and timers
Large displays draw from many outlets across a property. Map every outdoor outlet, confirm it's GFCI-protected, and note which breaker it's on. LED C9s and minis draw far less than incandescent, which lets long runs share a circuit, but each circuit still has a limit. Photocell timers in 4-packs put every circuit on the same dusk-to-set-hours schedule, so nobody has to walk the property each evening.
Ordering
Orders are placed directly through the site with a card at checkout. The order confirmation is the receipt for the association's or property's records. Every order ships free and ships the same day, which lets a board approve a purchase and have the materials on the way that afternoon.
Questions
What does it cost to light a whole community entrance and clubhouse?
It depends on footage. Measure every roofline and outline, then use the per-foot kit costs in the pricing table above. Add mini light strands for trees at about 100 lights per foot of height. Most entrance-and-clubhouse displays fit within a single 1,000 or 2,000 ft. kit plus a few cases of mini strands.
Can we phase the display in over several years?
Yes. LED C9 bulbs, socket wire and mini strands are reused every season, so each year's purchase adds to the display. Record the color temperature, bulb style and spacing you chose so later additions match.
Do case packs save money?
The pricing table above lists the per-unit price at pack and case quantity for each product. Case pricing is lower per unit on bulbs, clips, plugs, stakes and mini strands.
Who should install a property display?
Either a lighting contractor or the property's own maintenance staff. When the property owns the materials, it can change installers without losing the display.
How do we store the display between seasons?
Coil each run loosely and label it by building and edge. Store bulbs in their sockets or in the original cases, in dry bins. Many installers treat clips as consumable and use new ones each season.
How do we keep every building on the same schedule?
Put a photocell timer on each circuit and set the same on-hours for all of them. Timers switch on at dusk and off after the set hours, so the whole property lights and darkens together.
Can an HOA or property management company order directly?
Yes. Orders are placed through the site like any other, and the order confirmation serves as the receipt for the association's or property's records.
How do I keep lights consistent across several buildings?
Order the whole display at once and choose one color temperature and bulb style for every building. Cases ordered together match.
How many mini lights does a tree need?
A common starting point is about 100 mini lights per foot of tree height for a medium wrap. A 10 ft. tree takes roughly 20 strands of 50.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on all orders to the contiguous United States, with no order minimum.
When will my order ship?
Every order ships the same day it's placed, whatever time you order. There's no cutoff.
What's the difference between C9 and C7 bulbs?
C9 bulbs are the larger of the two, about 1⅛ in. across on an E17 intermediate base, and are the standard for rooflines and commercial displays viewed from the street. C7 bulbs are smaller, on an E12 candelabra base, and suit close-viewed spaces like porches, railings and walkways.
How many bulbs do I need for a roofline?
Convert the run length to inches and divide by the socket spacing. A 100 ft. roofline is 1,200 in.; at 12 in. spacing that's 100 sockets and 100 bulbs, and at 15 in. spacing it's 80.
